Watch Shop People craftsman Cy Kratzer show how to create a bandsaw box in a demonstration at Shop People Wednesday, February 9 at 6:30 pm. Cost is $8.

A bandsaw box is made of a solid block of wood using, well, a bandsaw. When glued back together it looks as if it is still one piece of wood.

The shape of the box is far less limited than a typically constructed box and can be made into many creative shapes (oval, heart, free-form etc.).

They make very attractive jewelery boxes and excellent gifts.

Bandsaws are one of the most flexible tools in the woodshop, capable of cutting straight lines, circles and even cones and other compound shapes.
